• O-Scene: If it’s not here, don’t go there…

This is the Oakland blog for people living out loud. True to the Oakbook philosophy, we’ll tell you where to go, what to do, and what’s really going down in the town and around the Bay. From parties to films, peace protests to flag football, if there's a there there, we'll blog it.
  • Invite us to things. We’re great at parties.

If you've got events, photos, videos, announcements or general news on all the happenings in the Bay, send 'em over to us at oscene@theoakbook.com And don't be afraid to leave a comment. Don't be shy...come over and talk to us. You just might get lucky!

Photos-First Fridays at Oakland Museum

Posted by novoscene on October 8, 2007

First Fridays over at the Oakland Museum have been kicking up the heat quite a bit for the last few months. Between last weeks screening of Bay Area graffiti doc Piece by Piece, a night market sponsored by Feria Urbana, a lecture by historian Cecil Brown and funky jazz from Ric Alexander and company, there was a little something for everyone. Reps say they’re working on bringing a new, younger audience into the museum and promise more surprises in the upcoming months. Check the pics.
