Dreaming in the Hog Trough by Scott Courtenay-Smith
Tonight eight artists will create live art to be auctioned to raise money for Peralta Elementary School arts programs. The featured creators include Oakland artists such as Scott Courtenay-Smith and Sylvi Herrick.
Messy Monkey Arts, the brainchild of another Oakland artist, Kelly Vaagsland Wainwright, is producing the event. Typically, the group produces team-building exercises for companies like Google and the Global Business Network, but Wainwright has been wanting to expand into fundraisers. Her baby isn’t at Peralta as yet, but her friends and neighbors send their kids to school there.

Yes – it was really such a great event. We look forward to having many more. Art, play and wine is always a good combination – not to mention the raising of money for our kids art programs. Go Messy!!
