2/10 Books, beautiful books

Posted by novoscene on February 9, 2009

Most non literary folks-ie. those who have less than 1,000 books stacked high in piles around their houses and/or multiple advanced degrees and no job marketable job skills-don’t pay much attention to book design.  Sure there are a few exceptions (Chip Kidd and McSweeney’s) and the occasional lusty paperback or creative graphic novel catches our eye, but for the most part, much to the chagrin of book designers-we read it, love it , we toss it aside.

But the artists from CCA’s Printmaking Program are out to change the way you look at and approach the book.  In the age of the e-book, these old school craftsmen put as much care into crafting quality dusk jackets and creative packaging as the authors who write the stories.  Check out their creations at this reception for their latest batch of literary masterpieces.-kwan
