• O-Scene: If it’s not here, don’t go there…

This is the Oakland blog for people living out loud. True to the Oakbook philosophy, we’ll tell you where to go, what to do, and what’s really going down in the town and around the Bay. From parties to films, peace protests to flag football, if there's a there there, we'll blog it.
  • Invite us to things. We’re great at parties.

If you've got events, photos, videos, announcements or general news on all the happenings in the Bay, send 'em over to us at oscene@theoakbook.com And don't be afraid to leave a comment. Don't be shy...come over and talk to us. You just might get lucky!

3/31 Walter Mosley Reading

Posted by novoscene on March 30, 2009

Walter Mosley is one of the only authors with two books on my best ever list. Blue Light, Mosley’s 1998 sci fi investigation of metaphysics, spirituality and hippie era San Francisco and Killing Johnny Fry, Mosley’s nearly impossible to find erotic novel of midlife crisis and sexual exploration. Of course, Mosley is most well known for his series of Easy Rawlins mystery series and their accompanying films starring big name stars like Denzel Washington, Lawrence Fishburne and Don Cheadle.

Tonight Mosley he’ll be reading from his new novel, The Long Fall and discussing his life in letters, the pressures of being best selling author and the joys and drawbacks of genre fiction.
