4/23 (climate) Change is coming!

“It’s been a long, long time coming, but I know a change gone come”
-Sam Cooke
Pity Mr. Cooke didn’t make it to 2009. While we’re not out of the woods yet at least we’re developing a map to get back on the right track. And tonight’s event is all about helping to build that change road map.
“Change is upon us. Changing leadership, a changing economy, and a rapidly changing climate. Now’s the time to shape that change toward positive solutions!
Join Bay Localize for an evening of music, insight, and conversation around building stronger communities in the face of climate change and the economic crisis. Learn how global, federal, and state policies will impact local efforts — and how you can get involved! Newcomers or veteran activists welcome.”
The event will feature panels on the “Global to State Level Policy” and Community initiatives with representatives from local orgs like the Union of Concerned Scientists, Ella Baker Center, Bay Localize, Urban Habitat and The CA Green Stimulus Coalition and performances by spoken word artists from Street Academy and HBO’s new Brave New Voices, poetry series.
