  • Invite us to things. We’re great at parties.

If you've got events, photos, videos, announcements or general news on all the happenings in the Bay, send 'em over to us at oscene@theoakbook.com And don't be afraid to leave a comment. Don't be shy...come over and talk to us. You just might get lucky!

11/9 Novoscene Weekend

Posted by novoscene on November 9, 2007

Just another great weekend in the Bay Ares. Start Friday off with a little graffiti and youth art then mix it up with a little high impact monster puppet rock and cap it off with a birthday party for one of the most swellest chicks in the Bay. -kwan

11/2 Novoscene Weekend

Posted by novoscene on November 2, 2007

Last weekend was all about Ghouls and Goblins and things that go bump when you’re drunk and stumble over them (but maybe that’s just us). This weekend we’re mellowing out with some poetry, a little art, a little soul and jazz and, if you’re feeling really frisky-some spooky surrealist Japanese Anime. For a good cause of course…

Novoscene Weekend

Posted by novoscene on October 4, 2007

There’s a heaping helping of events all around the town this fine October weekend. We’ve got some scrumptious choir performances with side helpings of dance lecture and hood theater. Some fresh out the oven girl rock along with a little experimental film to wash it down and some sweet, sweet beat poetry to top it off, and that’s just the first course. Pull up a chair, grab a fork and dig in.-kwan

Novoscene: Weekend

Posted by novoscene on September 27, 2007

This weekend the bay is groove central as everyone’s tossing up barbecues, hosting festivals and trying to squeeze the last bit of summer out of the year. Here are some choice musical offerings for the weekend. There’s block parties and beatboxing. There’s thingamajigs and jazz. There’s salsa and Moroccan rhythms, all under the same big Bay Area sky. Damn we love this place… -Kwan Booth

Novoscene Weekend

Novoscene: Weekend
By Kwan Booth

As the weekend comes upon us again the Novometro meteorological department predicts a bit of international education tonight followed by fits of funky dancing later in the evening. Friday through Sunday calls for bouts of psychadelic pornography with light multimedia showers and queer boom bap. Think layers people, layers...
